on august the eleventh , i recieved a paycheck for the week of july the thirty - first thru august the fourth . on august the ninth , via my bank , i found out that the check had bounced, due to insufficient funds , and i was responsible to my bank for the entire amount ( less than five hundred dollars ) , in addition to fees . i , and several others where i work recieved cashiers checks . at that time i asked " will this happen again ? " i was told " i dont know " by the acting ceo of the company . on august the eleventh , i recieved a paycheck for the previous week , and a seperate eight dollar check for bank fees that i had incurred , stemming from the first check . immediately after work ( two o'clock pm ) a co worker and i raced to the bank , it was a nervous five minute walk to our employers' bank , filled with what ifs , idle threats and jokes about what we'd take as collateral . just as the first paycheck bounced , the latest one did as well . funds were so scarce in the account that i was not allowed to cash the eight dollar reimbursement check . when confronted about the worthless checks , we recieved a response from the same acting ceo that was characterized as " golly - gee ! " and " oops , sorry , we'll try harder next time . " on monday the twenty - first i was paid in full , in cash . including the bank fee in cash by the acting ceo for the week of august the fourteenth thru the eighteenth . today is august the twenty fifth . it is exactly four : oh five pm . i have been told more than four times that " this company is going thru a few difficult times during a period of unprecedented growth . " i am now owed over one thousand dollars for services rendered from august the fourteenth thru today , august the twenty fifth . i am told by persons in a position to know that my employer is thirty million dollars in debt . i am told by the ceo himself , doug destefano that payroll will be produced " wednesday ( the thirtieth ) or thursday ( the thirty - first ) at the latest " . due to this , i cannot afford to go to work . due to this , i quit my job today . due to non payment . and the likelihood that i will never be paid . my employer was relaypoint.net update on wednesday , august the thirtieth , at one o ' clock , i called the human resources manager to verify that payroll had been produced . i was told that i could claim my paycheck for the week of august the twenty - first thru the twenty - fifth at four o ' clock . i was also told that the check was drawn on a new account at a new bank that closes at four o ' clock , three miles away . i sped ( as much as a volkswagen will speed ) to the bank , there i quickly endorsed , submitted and smiled at the cashier . upon turning around i looked straight into the eyes of the same acting ceo and the accounts receiveable clerk . on friday , september the first at three : fifty p.m. , i went to the relaypoint.net offices to receive my final check . after waiting at the receptionists desk for seventeen minutes , the human resources director arrived and asked me to join her in her office . after signing a non disclosure agreement , ( relating to technical equipment , processes and issues ) i was given my check and bid a good day . friday , september the first at four : thirty , the bank was closed . monday , september the fourth was labor day . today , tuesday , september the fifth at nine a.m. i was paid in full from a job that i had quit twelve days before .
